If you plan on adding to Super Mario Maker 2’s swath of highly difficult levels, you’ll have a better chance of standing out if you take a hard-but-fair approach in favor of all-out cruelty. ![]() Know the difference between hard and cruel Perhaps you want to make a devious speedrun that has to be completed in 20 seconds? Or maybe you want to build a course that allows 4 players to race with go-karts in multiplayer? How about a Spider-Man style level that requires you to perform death-defying swings? I personally find that heading into the creation process with a basic idea helps the creative juices flow faster. While there’s nothing wrong with winging it, it helps to have a theme in mind when you start creating a level.
